Invincible Bulwark (3)

Muhammad Ibrahim Ali
(continued from the last issue)
The answer of the DPRK was resolute and clear.
“We won’t provoke anybody first, but we will never allow anyone to insult and irritate us.” This was the declaration of the DPRK.
Hence, the US imperialists, being scared of the strength of the DPRK and its tough counter reaction, stepped back.
The US repeatedly disgraced itself under the eyes of the world.
On August 18, 1976, the US again committed a grave provocation against the DPRK in the Panmunjom Joint Security Area.
This is called “Panmunjom incident” and people still remember it.
The soldiers of the Korean People’s Army planted Populus Alba with utmost care in Panmunjom in 1953 to mark the great victory of the Korean Fatherland Liberation War and have long looked it after.
GIs who hated it like a thorn in the flesh led 14 hooligans possessed of axes and lethal weapons to cut it down at random at around 10:40 in the morning of the day and threw an axe to a guard of the DPRK side and he was seriously wounded. The guards of the DPRK side never allowed the act of the US.
They mercilessly beat the enemy by picking up the axe thrown by the enemy to throw it back to the provokers.
In a moment many provokers sank to the ground and two GIs were killed instantly.
This was a deserved punishment to the provokers and defence of justice. Notwithstanding, the United States like a thief raising a hue and cry asked for “reparations” and “apology”. It seriously threatened and blackmailed the DPRK, sending huge armed forces of aggression including the aircraft carrier “Midway” of the US Seventh Fleet, “F-4 Phantoms” and other warplanes, cruisers and destroyers to the East Sea of Korea.
However, the reckless and foolish US attempt fizzled out again in the face of the tough reaction of the army and people of the DPRK.
After all, the Korean people won one victory after another in the sky, on the ground and sea, defeating the US military challenges.
