The
Taesongsan Fort

The Taesongsan Fort is a fort that dates back to Koguryo. It is large in size and very excellent in the matter of building technique.
In the year 427 Koguryo moved the capital to Pyongyang and so it had already stepped up the building of large-size Taesongsan Fort, a defensive fort, along with the construction of Anhak Palace, a king’s palace.
The fort is 7 076m round and about 2.7㎢ wide.
It was hard to attack and good to defend.
The size and building technique of the fort makes it possible to have a good knowledge of the resourcefulness and talent of the Koguryo people and culture of Koguryo.
