“World Wrestling Day” Marked
An event took place at the Badminton Gymnasium in Chongchun Street of Pyongyang on May 23 to mark World Wrestling Day.
Present there were officials of the DPRK Wrestling Association and coaches and players in the field of sports.
Speeches were made at the event.
The speaker noted that since the founding of the DPRK Wrestling Association, it has made great contribution to the development of the wrestling technology and in this course, many world-class wrestlers including twice world champions have been produced.
He hoped that the event would serve as a significant occasion in further raising the social interest in wrestling and finding more talented reserve players and thus developing the country’s wrestling technology.
Then, there were a demonstration of basic wrestling techniques and a competition by young reserve players.
