The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung had a conversation with a party and state activist of the former Soviet Union during the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

On the occasion, the activist asked the President about what kind of aid the Soviet Union would give to the Korean people in their nation-building after the liberation of Korea. In the days of bloody anti-Japanese war Kim Il Sung keenly felt that prosperity by dint of self-reliance was a shortcut to the building of a powerful and prosperous country. He, therefore, laid down firm foundations for the independent economy without the slightest vacillation in the building of a new country and even during difficult post-war time.
