Beautiful Lake -“Lake Michon”

Lake Michon lies between Jangsu Peak and Jujak Peak of Mt. Taesong.
It is 0.03 ㎢ in area and 9 meters deep.
It was made by digging out the bottom of the valley in the period of Koguryo.
The lake took the name from a man named Mi I Chan who made great contributions to the building of a castle in the period of Koguryo and so it was called Lake Miichan and with the passage of time it was called Lake Michon.
The main source of its water is from atmospheric precipitation and spring water.
The lake serves as a boating-ground in summer, a skating ground in winter and a cultural recreation centre for the people.
