Party Founding Museum





The Party Founding Museum is the revolutionary museum associated with the undying revolutionary activities of President Kim Il Sung who worked there for founding the WPK right after the liberation and leading the Korean revolution to victory.
It is located at the southern slope of Haebang Hill in Central District, Pyongyang.
It is the building where the Central Organizing Committee of the Communist Party of North Korea worked right after the liberation of Korea.
The two-storey museum keeps in their origin two office rooms, drawing room and meeting hall President Kim Il Sung used and has several show rooms showing data concerning the party building.
One of the two office rooms the President used from October 1945 to the middle of June 1946 and the other he used from the second half of June 1946 to January 1949.
At the meeting hall the President guided a lot of meetings of weighty importance in party building including the Third Enlarged Executive Committee meeting of the Central Organizing Committee of the Communist Party of North Korea.
On display in the seven rooms on the first floor are historical materials and mementoes showing the glorious revolutionary history of the President who founded the WPK and developed it into a mass party.
Standing about one hundred meters away west of the building of the museum is the house which was the President’s first residence after his triumphal return home.
Standing on the hill west of the museum building is the Monument to the Founding of the Party erected to convey the undying revolutionary exploits of the President and his great benevolence.
The Party Founding Museum makes great contributions to educating the Party members and working people in the revolutionary feats of the President who rendered undying distinguished services for the founding of the Party and its development.
