The building seen in the picture is Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun University of Music and Dance, the highest institute of Juche-based music and art education on the bank of the Taedong River flowing through Pyongyang.

The university was founded on March 1, 1949 and from then on it has covered a road of steady development under the great love of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and produced a lot of future artistes including famous singers, players and creators who would creditably carry forward Juche-based music and art.

Among them were lots of People’s Artists, People’s Actors, Merited Artists and Merited Actors.

Chairman Kim Jong Il, while looking around the building of the newly built grandiose Pyongyang Conservatory of that time on May 9, 2006, he saw to it that conservatory was named after Kim Won Gyun, Kim Il Sung Prize winner, Labor Hero, People’s Artist and composer who created a large number of works including the immortal revolutionary paean “Song of General Kim Il Sung” and “Patriotic Song” popular among the people and his bust was built in the compound of the conservatory.
