National Cultural Heritage Preserved
with Much Care in South Hwanghae Province


National cultural heritage protection and dissemination are brisk in South Hwanghae Province.
The province has directed efforts to unearthing and collecting tangible and intangible heritages associated with wisdom and talents of the ancestors and intensified the work for giving wide publicity to the time-honored history and national customs of Korea.
They recreated and disseminate the folk song “Haeju Arirang”, which has been handed down from the olden times in Hwanhae Province in conformity with national sentiments and aesthetic tastes of the times. They are helping garment production units introduce advanced Korean garment processing technology.
Meanwhile, they are devoting their wisdom and passion to encouraging special foods including Haeju Kyoban (rice mixed with spices, vegetables, meat, etc)registered as a regional intangible cultural heritage and making researches on preserving their peculiar taste and fragrance.
Creators and artistes of the South Hwanghae Provincial art troupe produce more works reflecting the requirements of the times and the people’s ideological and emotional aspirations in combination with national instrumental music and dance.
Farms in the province give peasant dance at various meetings of moving into new houses and year-end account settlement and income distribution to add to national emotion.
