The Historic Mangyongdae
Mangyongdae is the historic place where President Kim Il Sung , the eternal President of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, was born on April 15, 1912.
On the Mangyong Hill, the highest among the hills around Mangyongdae, one can command a bird’s-eye view of beautiful scenery.
In particular, the landscape of Mangyongdae in spring when all kinds of flowers are in full bloom can be likened to a piece of attractive painting.
President Kim Il Sung who was born in a plain straw-thatched house embarked upon the road of revolution at the age of 14 with a strong intention to liberate the country.
Preserved in state at the Mangyongdae native place are relics that carry the story of poverty of his family members.
Today Mangyongdae is the place frequented by the Korean people and the progressives of the world as well.
