Two Pistols

April 25, 1932, is the foundation day of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army.
In the last moment of his life Kim Hyong Jik, an outstanding leader of the anti-Japanese national liberation movement, gave two pistols to Mrs. Kang Pan Sok and asked her to hand over to the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung when he embarked upon the road of struggle.
Mrs. Kang Pan Sok buried the two pistols before the grave of Mr. Kim Hyong Jik and one day in 1927 she digged them out of the grave.
One day in February 1928 Mrs. Kang Pan Sok handed them over to President Kim Il Sung, saying:
When your father was in the last moments of his life, he asked me to hand them over to you. You have already embarked upon the road of revolutionary struggle, you needed them bequeathed by your father, I think. You must use them for surely accomplishing the cause of national liberation left over by your father.
President Kim Il Sung taking over the significant two pistols from his mother, hardened the pledge to accomplish the historic cause of national liberation as his father’s last words.
President Kim Il Sung formed the first armed rank of the Korean revolution starting with the two pistols and rang out gun report for the great war against Japs.
