The finals of the “Sports Games of the Workers of the Metal Industry-2023” took place at the Kim Il Sung Stadium at the foot of Moran Hill in Pyongyang, the capital city of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, on May 1 last year.

The two football teams respectively from the Chollima Steel Complex and the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex advanced to the football finals.

Tens of thousands of spectators filled the stadium and their cheering sound shook the Moran Hill.

At the match the team of the Chollima Steel Complex defeated the rival by the score of 2:0.

Then followed the awarding ceremony.

The spectators were deeply moved to hear the following story from the leading official of the Cabinet. General Secretary Kim Jong Un saw to it that the workers of the metal industry who worked hard for the metal production throughout the year be brought to Pyongyang and sports games organized so that they could enjoy the May Day in good festive mood. He also paid deep attention to the prize to be awarded at the contest.

When the prize arranged with the warm affection of the General Secretary was awarded to the winner team, the players of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex were in a perplexed mood.

They could not forget the leading officials of the province who being proud of the workers going to Pyongyang where the General Secretary was did their best for the preparation of the games and the co-workers who turned out as one for its success and the people who saw them off with flowers in their hands.

That evening the leading official of the Cabinet who returned to the office after the game finals got the phone call from the General Secretary.

The General Secretary asked about the results of the finals as well as the mood of the players of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex. He told the official to give them the same prize as that of the players of the Chollima Steel Complex before leaving Pyongyang the next day.

They were all moved to tears when they received the prize carrying the warm care of the General Secretary.
