An annual general meeting of the DPRK-Laos Friendship Association was held in Pyongyang.

Present there were Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People’s Committee who doubles as chairman of the association and members of the association.

Pak Kyong Il, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and vice-chairman of the association, made a report at the meeting.

The reporter introduced the reality of Laos which is making a great progress in the struggle for preserving the socio-political stability of the country and steadily developing the economy under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and referred to the work of the association which has contributed to developing the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries for the past one year.

The meeting discussed diverse action program for this year marking the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries and conducted assignment of work for carrying it out.
