Folk Play-Sledding

Sledding is one of the favorite folk plays enjoying by the Korean children from ancient time.
The sledding on the ice or snow was well known at the early years of the Feudal Joson Dynasty.
By nature, it was called “Solma” like a horse running on the snow. Later it was called sledding.
The children enjoying the sledding had backtrack, relay race and tiger play.
The sledding gives the children physical training, promotes the growth of their motor nerves, come to have a good knowledge of the movements of things on the ice and snow and cultivates the faculties of inquiry.
Today, the sledding is widely played through various forms and method of playing.
