A peculiar terraced residential district was brought to completion on the bank of the picturesque Pothong River on April 13 in the wake of the grand inaugural ceremony of Songhwa Street, home of normal workers.

General Secretary Kim Jong Un proposed to build Pothonggang riverside terraced residential district for the men of merits who worked for the Party and State through their whole life including announcers, literary men, scientists and actors and actresses to be called talents of the country, work team leader of the Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant and trolley bus driver in the place of the residence of President Kim Il Sung. He also led the construction as a designer, building owner and builder.

The Pothonggang riverside terraced residential district was built in a peculiar way combining low-storied dwellings with multi-storied dwellings, keeping the dwelling houses in good harmony with landscape and affording every facility and hygienic and cultural environment in space of life and ecology.
