Message of Greeting to Cuban President

Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a message of greeting to Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic of Cuba, on Sunday.
Kim Jong Un in the message extended warm congratulations and comradely greetings to the first secretary and the friendly Cuban party, government and people on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the victory of the Cuban revolution.
For over 60 years since the victory of the revolution, the Cuban people have firmly defended and advanced the socialist cause despite the ordeals and tempests of history, the message said.
It noted that today the Cuban people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba headed by the first secretary, are waging a courageous struggle to attain the goal of building a prosperous socialist state, set forth by the Eighth Congress of the Party, frustrating the ceaseless sanctions and blockade and plot-breeding moves of the hostile forces and overcoming the manifold disasters.
Extending full support and encouragement to the just cause of the Cuban people, we will as ever make every effort to further consolidate and develop the friendship and solidarity between the two parties and the peoples of the two countries, the message said.
It sincerely wished the first secretary good health and greater success in his responsible work of leading the party and the state. -0-
