Road to Be Followed by Korea
after Its Liberation
The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung had a conversation with a party and state activist of the former Soviet Union during the anti-Japanese armed struggle.
On the occasion, the activist asked the President about what kind of aid the Soviet Union would give to the Korean people in their nation-building after the liberation of Korea. The President said as follows: we are going to build the country by ourselves, if possible. It would be good to do so for sake of future, though it was difficult. Flunkeyism was historically the root of national ruin in our country. Our decision is to do away with the consequences of flunkeyism in building a new country…
In the days of bloody anti-Japanese war Kim Il Sung keenly felt that prosperity by dint of self-reliance was a shortcut to the building of a powerful and prosperous country. He, therefore, laid down firm foundations for the independent economy without the slightest vacillation in the building of a new country and even during difficult post-war time.
