The Arch of Triumph is a grand monument unveiled on April 14, 1982, on the occasion of the 70th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung to convey to generations to come the undying feats of the President who led the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle to victory to liberate the country and returned home in triumph.
It was erected at the initiative and detailed guidance of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

It is a four-storied stone building.
The immortal revolutionary hymn “Song of General Kim Il Sung” and figures “1925” and “1945” inscribed on it portray the revolutionary history and precious exploits of Kim Il Sung who embarked upon the road of revolution at the age of 14 and accomplished the historic cause of national liberation through the 20 year-long hard-fought anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and returned home in triumph.
