11th Cooking Competition Held in DPRK
The 11th Cooking Competition for marking the Day of the Shining Star (the birth anniversary of Chairman), the greatest auspicious holiday of the nation, took place in Pyongyang, the capital city of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) from February 12 to 14. Kim Jong Il Attending at the competition were the cooks and waiters and waitresses selected among the units in the field of public catering and external service in Pyongyang City and officials.There took place a cooking and beverage-making competition, exhibition of dishes peculiar to relevant units and demonstration of excellent cooks.
The dishes presented by Unjong Teahouse and Chongnyu Restaurant and others drew the attention of the participants and visitors as the dishes were nutritious, tasty and smelled so delicious.Certificates of merit and medals were awarded to the excellent cooks at the closing ceremony held on the 14th of February.Meanwhile, cooking competition took place at famous restaurants in every province.
