Day of Sun Celebrated in DPRK

All the people in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea celebrated the 113th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung with jubilation.

An endless stream of people visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred place of Juche, where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state. At the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, working people, youth and students paid the highest tribute to the President and the Chairman.

Officials, working people, service personnel, youth and students laid flower baskets, bouquets and flowers before the statues of the President and the Chairman on Mansu Hill and in other parts of the country.

Others visited the President's birthplace at Mangyongdae and reminded themselves of their bliss of having the illustrious leader.

Children including orphans and primary schoolchildren across the country received confectioneries on the occasion of the April spring holiday.

Looking round photo exhibitions in the capital city, in provinces and cities under the central authority, the visitors cherished the conviction that the glory of their country would shine forever under the leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Performances were given in Pyongyang and other parts of the country to celebrate the Day of the Sun, and the joy and excitement overflowed at dance parties of youth and students and working people held across the country.

Laughter of working people, youth and students resounded at Munsu Water Park, Natural History Museum and other recreation centres.

Songhwa, Hwasong, Rimhung and other streets in the capital city were decorated with spectacular illuminations, adding to the festive mood of the day.

Public catering establishments offered special holiday menu and services, to the delight of people.
