Greening work is energetically carried out in rural areas
Upholding the grand plan and intention of the Workers’ Party of the Korea, set forth it as an important task to put top priority to improving the living conditions in rural areas and farm villages, the officials and working people of Pyongyang City waged tree planting activities in the newly built farm villages.They have planted more than one thousand trees of over ten species including the pine nut, zelkova, metasequoia glyptostroboides trees in 10 districts of the city from the end of February till the beginning of March.In several districts such as Ryokpho, Rangnang, Mangyongdae, Sadong districts and etc. they thoroughly ensured the high standard in planting trees considering the biological features and soil condition of the local areas.The Red Cross Society of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is conducting the tree planting activity not only in spring but also in autumn to contribute to the afforestation and greening work of the country.Every Red Cross branch is organizing the tree planting activity based on their detailed planning.
