Eco-Environmental Protection and Tree Planting
The second forest restoration campaign has been launched in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
This campaign will implement yearly and step-by-step goals to transform forests for local industrial raw materials, to increase the scientific level of monitoring, communication and measures for minimizing various forest-related disasters, to increase forest accumulation and promote the production of forest resources on all indices, and to increase the capacity for protecting the eco-environment of forests.
Red Cross volunteers and youth members across the country are taking active part in the spring tree-planting this year, the first year of the second forest restoration.
The RC branches at all levels are working to develop a scientific tree-planting plan in cooperation with the land management bodies and to encourage active participation of the RC volunteers and youth members in planting trees with ardent patriotism.
The Red Cross Society has called on the volunteers and youth members to ensure the maximum rate of survival by improving the scientific level of tree-planting.
