Spring Tree-Planting is Brisk

The Red Cross Society of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is actively conducting tree-planting activity across the country on the occasion of the period of general mobilization of land management in spring.
In cooperation with the local land management bodies, the Red Cross branches at all levels have established the tree-planting plan on the basis of determination of climatic condition, soil condition and forest composition of the relevant regions, and have mobilized the volunteers and Red Cross youth members to plant trees.
In the Red Cross branch of Sinyang County, South Phyongan Province, forest rangers explained the importance and significance of afforestation and the sci-tech regulations in tree-planting to volunteers and Red Cross youth members prior to planting trees.
Volunteers and Red Cross youth members planted trees of good species like pine-nut tree, bamboo willow, larch, zelkova, fruit tree, Evodia daniellii Benn in roads, rivers and mountains around the village.
They are also working to improve the rate of survival by cultivating the planted trees.
