Preparedness for Emergency WASH Response
The Red Cross Society of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK RCS) is enhancing preparedness for emergency water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) response to cope with the natural disasters that can occur during the rainy season this year.
The DPRK RCS reconfirmed the list of trained volunteers who will be mobilized for emergency WASH response during the crisis as well as the emergency communication system and channels.
The Society is organizing on-line refresher trainings for volunteers.
The DPRK RCS is also conducting regular maintenance and technical monitoring of stockpiled mobile water treatment facilities, emergency WASH supplies and vehicles in order to be fully prepared for immediate mobilization.
