Child Health Day
In the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), children are benefitting from a systematic and day-to-day child health care system.
Just after the birth, children are provided with their health care chart.
Thanks to the well-regulated child health care system across the country, the health of children in the DPRK is protected by multiple layers.
The DPRK observes May 20 and November 20 as Child Health Day.
This Day is marked by several activities like feeding children, particularly under 5, with vitamin A capsules and deworming tablets and evaluating children's nutrition by measuring their middle upper arm circumference (MUAC) and body weights, as well as other child health care-related information and publicity activities.
The RC volunteers actively assisted the local health workers in those activities.
