On the occasion of World Health Day
April 7th is the World Health Day.
Since the foundation of the World Health Organization (WHO) on April 7, 1948, this day has been celebrated as the World Health Day every year.
Acknowledging the important role of science in the promotion and protection of human life and health, the organization has defined this year’s World Health Day theme as “Together for Science”.
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea joined the WHO in May 1973.
The DPRK gives top priority to the people’s life and health and is directing great efforts into improving the quality of medical service for the working people and consolidating the anti-epidemic basis capable of coping with any global health crisis.
Various activities across the country are organized every year on the occasion of the World Health Day.
This year, in close collaboration with relevant local authorities, the DPRK RCS actively conducted dissemination activities by RC volunteers on the prevention and control of epidemic and non-epidemic diseases, and contributed to raising the awareness of the local population on the prevention and control of diseases.
