Kil Hwak Sil, Vanguard in Chollima Era (1)
In autumn 1959 when the Chollima workteam movement was intense the mass media gave wide news coverage to a girl workteam leader in the Pyongyang Silk Mill (today Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Silk Mill) who volunteered to move to a backward workteam to help it to a model after she had made her workteam win the title of the first Chollima workteam. She was Kil Hwak Sil.
The workteam she decided to take charge had been failing to fulfill its assignment for many months.
She thought: I couldn’t be content with my workteam having won the title of a Chollima workteam. I had to go to help a backward workteam to win the same as ours so that all the workteams of the factory win the title. What about for me to move to help another backward workteam?
But she was afraid if she could carry through the job well or others blame her conceited.
Yet she remembered the address of President Kim Il Sung in the National Production Innovators Meeting held a year ago that if all the Korean people ride on Chollima and win the title of hero it would be best we could hope for, and at last made up her mind to move without hesitation.
