"I would not get to sleep tonight, too"
One day in May 1991, President Kim Il Sung met the bereaved family of Takaki Takeo, former chief director of the Japan-DPRK Cultural Exchange Association, and Tzkuda Tamotz, senior editor of Yomiuri Shimbun, who were staying in the DPRK.
That day, President had a long talk with them in an amicable atmosphere and gave a dinner in honor of them.
Tzkuda Tamotz, too grateful for the hospitality and trust from the President who was praised high by the world people as the “sun of mankind”, said as follows: I could not get to sleep last night because I was not mentally ready enough to see Your Excellency President.
Saying this he found his eyes wet. He was so longing to see him, but could not find good words to express his heart-felt greetings when he actually met him.
With an affectionate smile, the President said to him: Then you will have a good sleep from tonight, won’t you?
Shaking his head lightly Tzkuda answered: No, I would not get to sleep tonight, too, because I had the greatest honor of meeting Your Excellency.
