It happened one day in May, 1978.
Chairman Kim Jong Il was passing by the fountain park in front of the Mansudae Art Theatre in Pyongyang that evening before stopping the car to look at the park for a while.
He told the accompanying officials that the lighting of the fountain park seemed not enough.
The officials remained silent with looks of embarrassment as there were chandeliers at different places of the park and beautiful color lights in the fountain pond.
The Chairman told them that it seemed impossible to take a photo at night because of the poor light.
He continued that more lights should be installed so that the people could take a photo at night while walking around the park and directed the officials to improve its condition for the full convenience of the people.
He added that the lighting of the park should be as bright as the floodlights of the stadium and indicated the number and capacity of the floodlights to be installed.
