Abnormal Weather Conditions and Greening

Recently, the Copernican Climate Change Service, the meteorological information agency of the European Union, said that despite continuously weakening El Niño, last April was recorded as the hottest one in history, ascribing it to the global warming caused by human activities. Scientists warned that frequent abnormal climatic conditions like temperature rise is partly because of El Niño, but more importantly because of the emission of greenhouse gases caused by human activities.
The reality strongly demands that practical measures for minimizing the amount of emitted greenhouse gases be taken in order to defend the existence and future of mankind from terrible disasters created by climate change.
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement exerts an increasing effort to make the Red Cross activities greening-oriented and thereby contribute to reducing the amount of carbon dioxide emission.
In keeping with this trend, the Red Cross Society of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK RCS) has defined it as one of its major objectives to make its activities greening-oriented and gone at its implementation.
It has arranged several workshops for improving the awareness of the members of the Headquarters and branches. And having set stage-by-stage goals for the effort to go green, it modifies its action plans in conformity with them.
