Day of Shining Star Celebrated in DPRK
Every year all the Korean people celebrate the 15th of April as the Sun’s Day (birth anniversary of President) and the 16th of February as the Day of the Shining Star (the birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Il Sung ), the greatest auspicious holidays of the nation. Kim Jong Il On the occasion of the 81st birth anniversary of Chairman, there took place various congratulatory events in Pyongyang, the capital city of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and in rural areas. Kim Jong Il Youth and students held an evening gala atSquare in Pyongyang to conspicuously decorate the night of the holiday on the 16th of February. Kim Il Sung The participants in the evening gala showed merry dances paying the highest tribute to Chairmanwho provided an eternal foundation for the happiness of the people and prosperity of the country while unfolding noble traits of attaching importance to the youth and loving them on this land. Kim Jong Il There was a dancing party of the beautifully dressed women in traditional clothing to add the festive mood displaying their pride as the flower of the country, life and family at the Arch of Triumph Plaza.And the venue of the national art exhibition and photo exhibition were opened and industrial art exhibition was held in every province.Meanwhile, an art performance was given at the Samjiyon Theatre in Pyongyang on the 16th of February to celebrate the greatest auspicious national Day of the Shining Star.The performances given by artistes of the Wangjaesan Art Troupe, the State Merited Chorus and the Samjiyon Orchestra vividly represented the ardent yearning for Chairmanwho had lived his noble life of love for the country, nation and people.
