International Women’s Day Celebrated in DPRK

The Korean women who are contributing to the prosperity of the country with their sweat and effort and cultivating the socialist grand family with love and care celebrated the 113th anniversary of March 8 International Women’s Day in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
They paid visit to the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state.
A large number of people visited the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and mosaics picturing their smiling images in different parts of the country to lay floral baskets, bouquets and flowers and paid tribute to them.
Officials of provinces, cities, counties, institutions, industrial establishments and farms met and congratulated exemplary women workers of relevant units and encouraged them to fulfill their duties for the development of the country and unity and harmony of the society and family.
Colorful congratulatory performances and sports and amusement games took place in Pyongyang and local areas.
At the same time, an event took place at Pyongyang International Football School of the DPRK on March 8 to mark the AFC (Asian Football Confederation) Women’s Football Day.
Present at the event were officials of the DPRK Football Association, women coaches and teachers of sports teams, football teams and the field of training of reserves in Pyongyang and students of Pyongyang International Football School.
Yun Jong Ho, minister of External Economic Relations, chairman of the Football Association made speech. In his speech, he congratulated all the women football players and coaches in DPRK on the occasion of the March 8 International Women’s Day and underlined that they devoted themselves for the development of the women football.
There were an experience-sharing meeting on teaching and training and a show of dribbling and other football skill by players.
