Day of Korea’s Liberation Celebrated
The people in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) celebrated the 78th anniversary of Korea’s liberation which marked great significance in the anti-Japanese revolutionary war victory.The entire Korean people have paid the highest tribute to President, the peerless patriot who achieved Korea’s liberation on the 15th of August, 1945 after having waged 20 years of anti-Japanese revolutionary war. Kim Il Sung The masses laid floral baskets, bouquets and flowers before the statues of Presidentand Chairman Kim Il Sung , portraits depicting their smiling images and mosaics depicting them on Mansu Hill and in other parts of the country. Kim Jong Il And the working people, service personnel, youth and students visited the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong where the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners lie in state and paid homage to them.There took place flag-raising ceremonies, art performances and sport games in different parts of the country.Meanwhile, the evening gala of students took place not only in Kaesonmun Plaza Park in the capital city of Pyongyang but also in every provincial seat, city, and county of the DPRK on the 15th of August.
