545th Set of Triplets Born

In March the 545th set of triplets left the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital amid blessing of many people.
Their mother is Kim Un Suk living in Munchon, Kangwon Province, and father is a Korean People’s Army officer, O Kwang Hyok by name.
Since she was admitted to the hospital after being confirmed as being pregnant with triplets in July last year, the medical workers at the hospital had devoted all their sincerity to her, frequently examining the life indexes of the fetuses and her health and immediately holding consultations and taking scientific measures whenever something abnormal happened.
The triplets weighed 1.53kg, 1.45kg and 1.4kg at birth, but when they left the hospital their weights increased to 4.24kg, 4.62kg and 4.44kg.
A special care system for triplets is established in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Once a woman is confirmed as being pregnant with triplets, she is put under intensive medical care. After birth, a boy is given a silver dagger and a girl a gold rings as a gift.
The recently-born triplets are all boys.
The Korean people call the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital the palace of babies.
