Mangyong Hill

Mangyong Hill stands at the foot of Taedong River meandering round historic Mangyongdae.
It is 45 m high above sea level.
The name came from the fact that one can embrace on it the kaleidoscopic view of the surrounding landscape at once.
It is associated with the immortal revolutionary relics which show that President Kim Il Sung developed a strong spirit and high aim in his childhood: the study site, the wrestling site, the pine tree he had climed to catch a rainbow, the spring and so on.
It is luxuriant with ever-green pine woods and flourishes with the Pyongyang maples, fir trees, azaleas, apricot trees, peach trees, pear trees, perssimon trees and diverse flowers.
The green verdure and beautiful seasonal flowers add to the charm of its scenery.
In particular, Mangyong Hill in April, a season of revival and blooming, is highly picturesque.
