Admiration of Foreign Statesman

One day before the liberation of the country (August 15, 1945) President Kim Il Sung met Judanov, Member and Secretary of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU), who came to him under the authority of Stalin.
At the time Judanov asked him what kind of assistance the Korean people needed for the establishment of the state after the forthcoming liberation.
In his question, President Kim Il Sung stated to this effect: It would be grateful if the Soviet people help us, but we would like to stand on our own as possible as we can. Hard as it might be, I think it would be good for our own future. The worship of great powers was a root cause of the ruin in our country historically. We are determined to make flunkeyism no longer do harm to the building of the state. Then he continued that what he expected was the political support of fraternal countries to his country.
Judanov felt a great admiration for the words of the President. He reminded of an East European he had had a talk some time ago. The East European had told him the moment he met him that the USSR had to help them like an elder brother because his country was backward from the start and the war damage was tremendous.
Judanov told the President that it was a stark contrast: the difference between the East and the West and the country of sunrise and one of sunset.
